Units for Credit

AALLU coordinates and teaches three elective units. These units are all listed as first year level units, (6 points) and are open to any student who can take an Arts elective.  Please contact enrolments and admission to find out more about eligibility and enrolment.

ATS1297 Academic Writing

An introduction to the requirements for writing in the university, with a focus on developing students ability to  and write effectively, whatever their degree.  This unit is recommended for all commencing first-year students at Monash.

 

ATS1298 Professional Writing

This unit teaches students key abilities for communicating in a professional environment.  Students may choose to take this elective at any point during their degree.  The unit will be particularly useful for students wishing to improve their communication at work, and in general contexts.  Along with reports and other work documents, we will cover CV, application and portfolio writing.

 

 

ATS1340 Words Work

This unit is focused on developing students study and writing abilities in the tertiary context.  The unit is recommended, in particular, for later year students refreshing knowledge and skills in this area, students returning to study after a break or from the workplace.  Masters and postgraduate coursework students from Arts or other Faculties may also be eligible to undertake this unit as an elective, subject to degree and course requirements.
