Undergraduate studies in Bioethics
The Centre now offers three units in Bioethics at undergraduate level:
- CHB1010 Ethics, biotechnology, and genetics
- CHB1020 Biotechnology, justice and the law
- INT2180 / INT3180 The human body and the international marketplace (formerly CHB2100 / CHB3100)
These units have been designed to be suitable for students from outside the Arts Faculty as well as for Arts students. They may be of particular interest to students in the biological sciences, medicine, nursing, health science, law, or other disciplines which relate to science, medicine and/or social policy. They also provide an opportunity for students to gain an introduction to philosophy in an applied context.
The following Philosophy units allow students to complete a minor in Bioethics:
- PHL2001 Ethics at work
- PHL2150 Ethics
- PHL2810 Environmental ethics
- PHL2330 Issues in political theory
- PHL2510 Political philosophy.
