Four books are being launched over the duration of the conference, with a special cocktail event on the opening evening of the conference for two recently published books by Monash Criminology staff members, specifically:
Inaugural Centre for Film and Television Studies Conference
Across the Easter break, Film and Television Studies (Clayton campus) is hosting “B for BAD cinema: aesthetics, politics and cultural value,” an international conference that will bring together film scholars, critics and filmmakers to present their thoughts on “badfilm,” with a particular focus on the following themes: cultural value and theory; bad feeling and affect; aesthetic value and bad art; cultural morals and politics; and bad film/media theory and criticism.
The event will be launched by Tony Sweeney (Director, ACMI) and Peter Snow (Head, School of English, Communications and Performance Studies) at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square, on Tuesday April, 6.00pm.
