Lloyd Humberstone, Visiting Professor at Princeton

Lloyd Humberstone has been appointed Visiting Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Princeton University for one semester (2007/08) from September 2007.

He will be teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses during his stay, and will be back at Monash by early in 2008.

A new book by Monash University musicologists, which examines youth orchestras within Australia and throughout the world, will have its official launch next week.

Monash Arts signs with Sichuan University

The Faculty of Arts hosted delegates from five Colleges of Sichuan University in August as part of their recent visit to Monash. The delegates undertook a two week Leadership Training Program with the University, before spending their final week with Faculties.

Delegates from the Colleges of Literature & Journalism; Foreign Languages; History, Culture and Tourism; Politics and the Social Science Research Administration Office met with counterparts in the Faculty of Arts to discuss potential areas for collaboration.

A key result of the visit was the signing of Memoranda of Understanding with each of the Colleges. The MoUs confirmed the desire from both sides to develop a number Educational, Research, Research Training and other collaborative projects including cooperative degree programs, student exchange and study abroad, research projects and joint seminars, conferences and other academic projects.
