Access Monash - Indigenous Pathway Bursaries- Towards a Just Society Fund
The TJSF Pathway Bursary is made available to Indigenous students participating in the Access Monash: Indigenous Pathway Scheme and applications are accepted prior to the start of semester.
Students may apply for reimbursement of costs and associated fees arising from their enrolment such as books, amenity fees and travel or parking. In special circumstances, some students may also be eligible to receive a contribution towards living costs.
The TJSF Bursary is funded by private donation therefore eligibility may change if student demand exceeds fund availability.

John Koowarta Reconciliation Law Scholarship
In 1994, the Law Council of Australia helped establish the Koowarta Scholarship with seed money from the Federal Government. The Scholarship is open to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who are studying for a Bachelor of Laws degree.

External Scholarships
AusAID
Three Undergraduate Scholarships are offered through any Australian University, in any discipline, available in the final year of tertiary study to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The scholarships provide a monthly allowance, payment of final year HECS, payment of compulsory course fees, payment of student union fees and a text book allowance. Awardees are expected to undertake a minimum of 2 weeks paid work experience in AusAID in the break between semesters. Upon completion of studies, awardees will take up permanent employment with AusAID as a graduate in Canberra. These scholarships are offered each year subject to budget.

Bhp Billiton Indigenous Mba Scholarship
Melbourne Business School recently launched the BHP Billiton Indigenous MBA Scholarship. This scholarship, valued at about $70,000, covers all MBA tuition fees and also provides a living allowance.

Cpa Program Indigenous Scholarship Scheme
CPA Australia (Practising Accountants) is offering ten CPA Program scholarships to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to meet the educational requirements for CPA status. The scholarship will entitle holders to:
- Exemption from enrolment fees for CPA Program segments, workshops related to the CPA Program, and examinations for the duration of the scholarship(this does not include transport to and from workshops or examinations nor professional development activities)
- First year's free membership of CPA Australia at Associate level ( including fee for admission as new member): and
- Encouragement and assistance in identifying employment opportunities.

Department of Justice - Koori Tertiary Scholarships
The Department of Justice offer tertiary scholarships for Indigenous Australians studying in an approved tertiary institution. Preference will be given to students undertaking law, criminology, para-legal or other justice related fields. Indigenous tertiary students may apply only after they have completed one full year of units in one of the discipline areas mentioned above. For full time study, the scholarship will provide a fortnightly study allowance, which will be the equivalent to the base range of a Victorian Public Service (VPS), band 1 role (currently $25,470 gross per annum). Any Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) fees associated with an applicant's study will be required to be met by the applicant. It is recommended (not mandatory) that the scholarship holders participate in a practical work placement within the justice portfolio, designated service providers or other approved organisations, during the major (end of year) semester break.

Indigenous Training and Recruitment Initiative Program (Intrain) - Postgraduate and Undergraduate
This Undergraduate and Postgraduate scholarship is offered through any Australian University in any field. Priority will be given to health and related fields, such as Medicine, Nursing, Community development and management, Public policy and administration, Family Law (paralegal studies, property law, criminal law, conflict resolution), Housing Services (town planning, art/research, accounting, architecture). There will be fortnightly living allowance given to the awardees equivalent to the base range of a Victorian Public Service level 2 position, which is currently $25,000 gross per year. Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander, full time students, who normally resident in Victoria are eligible to apply.

The Minerals Council Scholarship Program
This Scholarship is offered through any Australian University to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Undergraduate students, in any discipline at an amount of $5000 per annum. Awardees must be under 25 years of age. Scholarship conditional upon continued academic progress. Between 20 and 30 individual scholarships are available per year. Successful and unsuccessful applicants may reapply each year. Merit and financial need are the primary selection criteria.

National Archives Summer Scholarships
At the time of taking up their scholarship students must be enrolled in, or be planning to enrol in: an undergraduate degree - 3rd or 4th year, an undergraduate honours degree, a graduate diploma or a postgraduate Masters or PhD degree-year 1. The field of study should include a major in 20th century Australian history, politics, social studies, or similar subject. A weekly stipend of $300 for six weeks; accommodation for six weeks and return economy airfare to Canberra.

The Neville Bonner Memorial Scholarship (Honours)
This scholarship is available to an Undergraduate Indigenous student who is undertaking their Honours in politics, political science, government, political geography, political history, political anthropology or political economics at any Australian university. Applications from students in any subject area broadly consistent with an interest in politics will be accepted. The scholarship is worth $17,609 per annum and recipients will also have their HECS paid up front. Applicants are to provide copies of up to date academic progress, academic referees reports together with the application. The final decision will not be made until the confirmation of entry to the honours year.

The Robert Riley Scholarship
The Robert Riley Scholarship program supports young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 25 years or under in the pursuit of studies in the fields of law, human rights and juvenile justice. The Foundation for Young Australians initiated the program in 1996 to honour the late Robert Riley, a passionate advocate and tireless campaigner for justice and human rights within Indigenous communities. The four $5,000 scholarships are awarded based on the individual recipient's ability to fulfil the aims of the program and the future benefits that they will bring to their community. Consideration is given to individual merit and need and takes into account whether the recipient has other funding. An Indigenous selection committee will choose the successful recipients.

Rotary Indigenous Health and Medical Scholarship
This scholarship has been developed through a cooperative partnership between Rotary International and the Department of Human Services. This scholarship is an initiative to support Indigenous Australians who are studying medicine, nursing, pharmacy and other health related areas. The scholarship is valued at $5000. The application closing date each year is in January.

The Sally White/Diane Barwick Award
This Undergraduate scholarship is offered through any Australian University in any discipline, for the amount of $1000 funded for one year. This scholarship is available to a female Indigenous Australian Honours student entering fourth year at any Australian university. The applicant must carry out full time research towards their fourth year honours degree. To apply, the applicant must write a letter about themselves, their honours topic and plans for the future, together with an academic transcript to date, names and contact details of academic and personal referees.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Undergraduate Pharmacy Scholarship Scheme
The scholarships are available to students who have been granted a place in a Pharmacy undergraduate degree at any university that has entered into an agreement with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. A total of 3 scholarships at $15,000 per annum for a maximum of four years are available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Although there is no requirement that students originate from a rural and remote community students who are considering practicing pharmacy in these rural communities and particularly encouraged to apply.
