CCLCS Postgraduate Colloquium 2002
The Centre for CLCSS postgraduates ran another very successful colloquium on 27th and 28th November 2002. There will be a similar event in 2003, and in addition the Centre may organise a 'reporting day' for its postgraduates.

One of the highlights of the colloquium was the showing of DERRIDA: THE MOVIE, described in the program as follows:
Following the successful showing of the documentary Facing the Music at the 2001 Colloquium, this year we will be showing Derrida the Movie. Produced with Derrida's full co-operation and consent, the film is the most ambitious cinematic project ever undertaken with a world-class philosopher. Initiated by Amy Ziering Kofman, who studied with Derrida at Yale in the 80s, and co-directed by Kirby Dick and Ziering Kofman, the film investigates the concept of biography itself and explores the nature and limitations of the cinematic form in addressing philosophical thought. It includes footage of Derrida's 1999 visit to Australia (CCLCS in Melbourne, the Power Institute in Sydney). Check the Derrida Movie web site [no longer active].
The organisers of the 2002 Colloquium were Jasmin Chen, Alex Cooke and Sam Everingham.
