Deferral

When you are offered a place in a course you may wish to delay the start of your studies, for work, family or travel reasons.

In many course (but not all) you can defer your place for six months or one year; this means the Faculty holds your place in your course for the specified period of time.

This means that at the end of your deferment period you can begin your studies without the need to reapply for your course.

For more information on deferring, and to download the application form - please visit the University enrolments site.

What if I want to start my studies early?

You may have originally requested a deferral for 12 months, but after 6 months wish to start studying. To shorten a deferral you need to complete a Early Return from Deferment Request form to your home campus.
