The experience

‘Archaeological fieldwork in Tuscany’, July 2010. This image shows
students working on the excavation of Pietramarina, an Etruscan
walled settlement dated from around the 7th century BCE to the
early imperial Roman period. The process of unearthing the square
in front of the walls will continue next year with a new group of
students.
"I've spent over half of my degree overseas with an exchange to the United States, the Gallipoli Program and Arts in Prato, and an intercampus exchange to Malaysia. To my mind there is no greater vindication of Monash's motto to 'Go Boldly' than to participate in these sorts of unparalleled opportunities."
Thomas Woodroofe, International Studies and Politics majors, Bachelor of Arts (Global)
"This was a momentous learning experience for me. We spoke to victims of war crime, visited genocide sites and learned a lot about Rwandan and South African culture."
Erin Quigley, History, Bachelor of Arts Honours
"Taking a subject through the Prato Centre is something I will remember forever. Studying overseas taught me that there are so many more ways to learn than just sitting in a lecture theatre. Being so fully immersed really inspires you to learn all that you can and more. I would do it again in a heartbeat."
Sarah Rathjen, majors in Archaeology & Ancient History & Linguistics, Bachelor of Arts
"The Monash Gallipoli trip was an amazing experience that moved teaching from the class room to the cliffs or Anzac. It's an unique and inspiring experience to be a part of."
Hailey Berkhout, Australian studies and History major, Bachelor of Arts
