Discontinue Your Arts Postgraduate Course
To withdraw from your Monash Arts course entirely you must apply for course discontinuation. Details on 'How to Apply' are provided below.
Once your application for course discontinuation is approved any enrolled units will be automatically discontinued. Depending on when you apply for course discontinuation certain academic and financial penalties may apply. See KeyDates.

If you are not sure you should discontinue your course, we recommend that you speak to someone prior to submitting your application.

How to Apply for Course Discontinuation
Different application methods apply for domestic students and international students.
Domestic Students
There are three ways you can apply for a course discontinuation:

Via the Web Enrolment System (WES).
From the homepage select on the ‘Apply for course discontinuation’ link.

Submit a course discontinue application to the Faculty of Arts.

- Alternatively, you can send an email to from your Monash Student Account requesting course discontinuation. Please include your student identification number in your email request. Emails are only accepted from your Monash Student email account.

International Students
We recommend you first discuss your application to discontinue with an International Student Adviser from Health and Wellbeing. They will advise you of the visa implications for your course discontinuation. See Contact an International Student Adviser.
International students on a student visa must submit a course discontinuation application to a Faculty of Arts office in person.
