Returning to study after course discontinuation
How you apply for re-entry to a course managed by the Faculty of Arts will depend on the reason for your course discontinuation.
Please select the appropriate option:
- Voluntary course discontinuation
- Discontinued for failure to re-enrol
- Enrolment invalidation
- Excluded for unsatisfactory academic progress or disciplinary action
Voluntary course discontinuation
Under 12 months
If you wish to return to your course within 12 months of applying for course discontinuation you will need to submit a Request for reinstatement of enrolment (rtf 122kb) to the faculty office on your home campus.
Over 12 months
If it has been over 12 months since you discontinued your course you will need to re-apply for entry to your course as though you are a new student. View Arts Future Students for application information.
Discontinued for failure to re-enrol
If you fail to re-enrol during the timely and late re-enrolment periods you will be blocked from your course.
You must apply to the faculty for re-instatement by submitting a Request for re-instatement of enrolment (rtf 122kb). We will determine if there are any places available for late enrolling students roughly a month before the start of semester. If the faculty does not have any places available you may be forced to take intermission from your course.
Over 12 months
If it has been over a year since you failed to re-enrol you are required to apply for entry as though you are a new student. View Arts Future Students for application information.
Enrolment invalidation
If you fail to pay your fees we will invalidate your enrolment. You will then need to apply for re-instatement.
Excluded for unsatisfactory academic progress or disciplinary action
Before you can return to study you must have met the conditions outlined in your notice of exclusion. You are required to apply for entry as though you are a new student. View Arts Future Students for application information.
