Variation to Undergraduate Arts Study Requirements
For Courses and Areas of Study Managed by Monash Arts
Sometimes due to your study interests, or the availability of units in a particular year, you may need to request that a core unit, or an additional elective unit, be approved for inclusion in your course or towards an area of study. This is called a variation to study requirement.
It is important that you gain approval before you study a unit not approved in the University Handbook. If you do not follow the listed requirements, you may jeopardise your course completion and graduation.
Area of Study Variation
To meet major, minor and sequence requirements in an Arts area of study you must complete only approved units listed in the Undergraduate Handbook: Arts Areas of Study.
If you need to take a unit not approved in the University Handbook you must:
- Download and complete the Variation to Study Requirements form [RTF file].
- Have the form signed by the area of study coordinator (or approved delegate).
- Hand the form in at the Arts Faculty Office on your home campus, see Contact Arts Student Services.
