Background

I began my academic career as an undergraduate at Queensland University of Technology and, after a Master of Letters and a Master of Arts, was awarded my doctorate at Monash University in 2003. I taught for a time across English, Drama and Communications and in 2006 took up a position as lecturer for the School of English, Communications and Performance Studies.

Research Interests

Children’s Literature, Fantasy Literature, Fairy Tale, Musical Theatre, Animation, Metafiction

Current authors of interest: J.K. Rowling, Jasper Fforde, Neil Gaiman, Jonathan Stroud, Susanna Clarke, Stephenie Meyer, Cornelia Funke, Diana Wynne Jones, Roald Dahl, S. Morgenstern (a.k.a. William Goldman)
