Background

Dr Rose Lucas is a Senior Lecturer in the School of English, Communications and Performance Studies. She is the co-ordinator of ENH1220 Worlds in Conflict: Empire, Margins, Difference, ENH2175/3176 Reading Otherwise: Literature, Gender and Psychoanalysis, ENH2810/3810 Novel into Film, and CLS 4030/5030 Poetics.

With colleagues John Hawke and Ann Vickery she is co-convenor of the forthcoming international conference, Poetry and the Trace, to be held in July 2008.

Publications

She has published widely in the areas of women’s poetry, feminist theory, cinema studies and the various intersections of literature and psychoanalysis. Her current research project is Falling into Light: Jane Kenyon, Mary Oliver, Gwen Harwood and a Poetics of Mourning. She is also a published poet whose work has appeared in Meanjin, Heat, Australian Book Review and the Aroostoock Review (University of Maine), and Best Australian Poems of 2007.
