Enrolment steps: Single unit and cross institutional

Step 1: Accept or reject your offer


You must decide whether you will accept or reject your offer.

Accept your offer

Please complete steps 2-6 of this guide to accept your offer.

Reject your offer

If you decide not to accept your offer, please respond to your email from Monash Arts declining the offer.

Step 2: Create a Computer Account


This step is required for all students new to Monash University.

If you are a current Monash student with a username and login, please skip to step 3.

To set up your student computer (Authcate) account:

  • Register for a new account (Current Monash students skip to step 3)
  • Use your Monash student ID (from your offer letter)
  • Read and agree to the Acceptable Use of IT policy
  • Record your Monash Student ID and Authcate user name
  • Enter your details: your street name must match the one you gave us when you applied (or any updated address you have given us)

Keep a safe record of your password and username. You will need these to access a range of online services at Monash University.

Using your account

Use your account to access your email, class timetable, my.monash portal, course materials, ask.monash, the library and the Web Enrolment System (WES). Links to these sites are provided to the left.

Using your student email

We only send emails to this address. You should check it at least twice a week.

When you contact us you must use this email address. Make sure you include your full name and student ID when sending emails to the university.

Step 3: Online Tasks


Use our online enrolment system, the Web Enrolment System (WES), to:

  • Update your postal address and contacts details
  • Fill in the enrolment questionnaire
  • Students enrolling in cross institutional study on a CSP basis, must also complete the CSP form. You will need your tax file number.
  • Check your unit enrolment. We have already enrolled you in your units. Please check the details are correct.

Step 4: Collect student ID card


Once you have completed all the previous enrolment steps, you are eligible to obtain your student ID card. You are able to get your ID card either before or during semester from the  Student Services Centre on your campus. Please bring:

  • Your Monash student ID
  • Your photo ID (passport, driver's licence)
  • The transaction numbers from your enrolment questionnaire and unit enrolment
  • Your offer letter or Authority to enrol letter

If you did not enrol online, bring the Authority to enrol letter stamped by your faculty.

You must collect your ID card in person.

Off-campus students

Off-campus students that cannot attend on-campus to organise an ID card please forward the following to the Student Services Centre Gippsland campus (Student Service Centre, Monash University, Building 1W, Northways Road, Churchill VIC 3842) so that an ID card can be sent to you:

  • A passport quality photo
  • Monash ID number
  • Full name
  • Name of course
  • Current postal address

Please note: this option is only available for students in off-campus courses.

Returning students

If you are not new to Monash and have a current student ID card you do not have to obtain a new one.

Step 5: After Enrolment


Timetable, fee statement and orientation

There are still a couple of things you need to do to prepare for the start of semester.

Select your timetable preferences

Now that you have enrolled in units, you need to enter your timetable preferences in Allocate+, for information see timetable information

Check your fee statement

Make sure you check your fee statement online. For information see: Domestic Students Monash After Enrolment Information

Go to Orientation Week

We recommend you attend Arts Orientation at your home campus.
