Step 8: Sign up for classes
You must sign up for your classes prior to the commencement of each semester using the Allocate+ system. Always check the schedule of operation on the Allocate+ homepage for important dates. You should enter your preferences for class times when Allocate+ is open in preference entry mode.
To use Allocate+ you will need to login using your authcate username and password.
What is Allocate+?
Allocate+ is an allocation system that enables you to enter preferences online for activities (e.g. lectures, tutorials, labs, workshops etc) based on your enrolled units. On Allocate+ you are able to view your current enrolment details and the activities available for each enrolled unit.
The Allocate+ system operates in three modes: preference entry mode; allocation adjustment Mode; and view only mode.
Preference entry mode
Once Allocate+ is open in Preference Entry mode, you should browse available timeslots for all enrolled activities and specify your personal preferences for timeslots that you would like to attend.
Allocation adjustment mode
Your preferences are collected, ranked, randomised and sorted. Once Allocate+ is open in Allocation Adjustment mode, you may view your clash free timetable. If you are not happy with your allocation, or have not been allocated to an activity, you may choose from available remaining timeslots for an instant allocation.
What if your unit does not show in Allocate+?
Not all units use the Allocate+ system to organise classes. To find out about these units or for help dealing with technical difficulties you should visit the Allocate+ site.
