Equipment and Technical

Poster image: B for Bad Cinema

All rooms are equipped with the following:

  • Data Projector
  • DVD/VHS combination players
  • Computers*
  • Personal laptop plug-in facilities**

The Campus Cinema is also equipped with radio and lapel microphones. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help you with using this equipment. Please see a staff member ahead of your paper to load AV material and test compatibility.

Please note that if you use a Powerpoint presentation, the fonts used in your presentation are not saved in the file. If you use any non-standard fonts, save the font file along with the presentation file, to avoid the appearance or layout of your presentation being altered. It is also a good idea to export a copy of the presentation in Adobe PDF format - as this retains exact appearance and fonts, and can easily be used to give the presentation instead of Powerpoint.

*Computers will accept CD, DVD, and USB flash drives. They are equipped with Microsoft Office 2003 edition. Users with Microsoft Office 2008+ editions will need to make sure that all files are saved with 2003 compatibility (e.g. PowerPoint presentations to be saved as .ppt, not .pptx).

**Mac laptop users note: Adapters are required for audio/visual playback. Some adapters are provided.
