Entry pathways to Monash Arts

The standard entry to an Arts degree is the successful completion of year 12. We also encourage applications from non-school leavers and there are a number of entry pathways which are outlined below.
Our course information also includes links to specific entry requirement information for each degree. Make sure you check the requirement for the degrees you like. Some double degrees require you to complete pre-requisite subjects and others require you to sit an audition.
General entry pathway information is available below.
Year 12
Admission to a single undergraduate arts degree requires successful completion of VCE or an equivalent qualification. Completion of units 3 and 4 with a minimum study score of at least 30 in English as a second language or 25 in any other English is required. Year 12 students need an ENTER above the minimum published by VTAC each year. See VTAC Guide.

It is possible to transfer from another degree to Monash Arts. You must have completed a minimum of two units with at least a 60% average to transfer to an Arts single degree, or a 70% average to transfer to an Arts managed double degree. See course transfers
TAFE
Completion of a Certificate IV (the first year of a diploma or associate diploma program) or a diploma from TAFE with a minimum 70% average will act as a pathway to an Arts degree. Recommended studies include courses that have high humanities content, eg professional writing and editing, liberal arts, media and communications, justice studies, marketing and public relations.
