Arts undergraduate diplomas

Major in an area of study offered by Monash Arts
Our undergraduate diplomas allow you to pursue an interest in an area of study from Monash Arts concurrently with a degree at Monash or another Australian institution.
Diplomas are available in almost every area of study. It is the equivalent to a full major (8 units), and generally adds a further year to the length of studies. Unfortunately, these part-time courses are not available to international student visa holders.
Further diploma information is available below.

Course length
For most students the diploma will add one year to your studies and will be completed alongside your main degree over a three to four year period.
The time may be reduced if you receive credit for units already completed in your degree, or if the course allows you to complete summer or winter units.
High-achieving students may be able to reduce the time required for completion by overloading in later years.
Credit for previous study
Students may be eligible for a maximum of 24 points of credit for units previously completed. Please submit an application for credit with your diploma application. See student forms, to download an application.
Entry requirements
To be eligible to apply for an undergraduate diploma course you must be currently enrolled in a degree or double degree at Monash University or another recognised tertiary institution.

You must also gain approval from your home institution to study an undergraduate diploma with Monash Arts. Your home institution must complete ‘Section E' of your diploma application.
