Single subjects as a pathway to an Arts degree

Pathway requirements

To qualify for entry to an Arts degree simply complete a minimum of 2 Arts subjects and achieve one of the following average results:

  • 60% average for a single Arts degree
  • 70% average for an Arts double degree*

*Please note you must still meet any prerequisites listed for the double degree

Why choose this pathway?

One of the best things about the single subject pathway is that it allows you to sample university life before you commit to a degree, you get to study on campus with other first year students and have access to a full range of academic resources. The other great benefit is that you can receive credit for these units when you start your Monash Arts degree.

Which subjects should you choose?

We recommend you take subjects that you find interesting and in the sorts of areas of study youwould eventually like to study in your Monash Arts degree.

Applying for a course

Once you have achieved the required average result, you are eligible to apply for a course by the normal methods for that semester. Mid-year applications are subject to availability of Commonwealth Supported Paces (CSP). See apply for a course - domestic applicants

Subject fees

Single unit students will be charged at a full-fee rate. More information
