The school is committed to provide a safe and healthy environment in which staff, students, contractors and visitors are able to conduct their daily activities of teaching, research and related administration. To achieve this goal, the SGES has implemented policies and procedures within the framework of policies and procedures of the Monash University 'Occupational Health, Safety and Environment' department.
Employees, students and visitors are also responsible for carrying out their work or study according to Monash policy and in a sensible and safe manner. Emergency and Evacuation Procedures Emergency evacuation instructions are contained in the booklet located at each telephone in SGES. Familiarise yourself with emergency signals, evacuation routes, emergency exits, fire break glass alarms, assembly areas, emergency wardens and first aiders in your area. |

SGES is in OHSE Zone 1 in Building 11 (Robert Menzies Building) Two laboratories are in Zone 15, Building 27 (Senior Physics building) The Designated Work Group (DWG) is DWG 2

The Monash University Health Service is located in the west end of the Campus Centre, Building 10.
