Evaluating the sources of dust storms in the Lake Eyre Basin: A remote sensing, climatology and geomorphology approach.

Previous research experience:

  • Remote Sensing based study of Saharan dust sources
  • Remote Sensing study of the 2003 Australian Alpine Fires
  • Remote Sensing study of peat-bog landslides in the SW of Ireland

Ongoing or potential areas of research collaboration with other researchers at universities or research institutions 

  • Development of a multi-sensor based method of detecting and mapping sources of mineral dust in the Australian and Saharan desert – Cooperation with King’s College London Department of Geography
  • Involved in Monash University/ANU application for ARC Research Grant to research the impact of Australian desert dust on the environment and human health.
