Research Focus
Dust Storms in the Lake Eyre Basin.
Current Research
Using satellite imagery to detect dust plumes and map their sources in the Lake Eyre Basin to identify the geomorphological features involved in dust production.
Use satellite imagery to count the number of dust events at specific locations. Results are then compared to Bureau of Meteorology dust records for a comparison study.
Collect and analyse surface material from dust sources and compare this to samples collected in dust traps downwind.
Why Monash?
I successfully applied for a PhD scholarship at Monash. I most enjoy my fieldtrips in the desert and the people I work with.
What next?
For the next few years I plan to work as a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash.
