Australian Diatom Homepage

The protocols and iconograph displayed at this site are outcomes from a series of Australian diatom workshops held over the past two years. This has involved the collaboration of diatomists from many universities, consultancies and water institutions. The Australian Diatom Iconograph consists of both interactive keys and species descriptions that will be useful for teaching diatom taxonomy to beginners as well as providing more detailed taxonomic and ecological information to advanced diatomists. The iconograph is a working document and focuses upon the most common Australian freshwater diatom species.
