Research Strengths of the School of Music-Conservatorium

The School of Music offers Masters and PhD degrees in musicology, ethnomusicology, performance and composition.

The School's research specialties lie in ethnomusicology and musicology, and its performance and composition activities are also areas of emerging research strength.

Other areas of research include music of Britain, music of France, music editing, chamber music, Southeast Asian ethnomusicology, organology and composition/music technology, instrument pedagogy, Australian Jewish and Asian Jewish liturgical music, popular music and performance. Staff have also published on aspects of Indigenous Australian music.
