Dr Mia Treacey

Biography

Mia is a Monash graduate, with a PhD in two disciplinary fields: History and Film and Television Studies. She also completed a Masters and her undergraduate studies with Monash.

For over a decade Mia has lectured and tutored in a variety of disciplines, as well as working as a senior administrator in student services.

Research interests

Mia’s research focuses on a number of areas connected with cultural history, particularly the interdisciplinary field of screen history.

Additionally she researches in the field of Transition and Pathways Specialist Education.  

Current research projects

Mia is currently working with the DoTS team and other SAMSS staff on a number of research projects to do with transition and pathways at a tertiary level.

She is also working on a book based on her PhD research, titled ‘Out of Synch: Screen History.’
