Why should I do a Postgraduate Diploma?
The Postgraduate Diploma of Linguistics in Language Endangerment Studies is designed to give students sound theoretical and applied training in Language Endangerment studies over the course of two semesters full-time, or four semesters part-time.
Postgraduate Diploma students complete all the basic core units in Studies in Language Endangerment and one elective. Students wishing to gain supervised applied training in developing and implementing a research project, to support and strengthen language maintenance practice within a community or organisation, should consider applying for the Masters program, or transferring to the Masters during their course of study. This will extend the duration of full-time study by one semester.
The Postgraduate Diploma is also a pathway into the Masters of Linguistics in Language Endangerment Studies for students who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Linguistics in Language Endangerment Studies.
