Security and Disarmament in the Asia Pacific: London Seminar (2002)
21 May 2002, Monash Centre in London (UK)
The Monash Asia Institute is bringing a delegation of Australian specialists on security to London to discuss with British based specialists the changing security scenario in the Asia Pacific and its implications for global security. Our objective is to share ideas with the view to establishing collaborative research projects and other activities.
The Monash Asia Institute (MAI) inaugurated a series of security dialogues in the aftermath of nuclear tests by India and Pakistan in 1998. The first dialogue was held in Melbourne, followed by dialogues at Georgetown University in Washington DC and the Asia Society in New York (1998-1999). The MAI is planning a 3rd dialogue in China in 2002/2003.
