Biography

Diane was born in the Murray River town of Echuca, Victoria, and is a member of the Yorta Yorta/ Wemba Wemba communities from Victoria and New South Wales, but has lived in Melbourne since the later 1950s.

After years of working in the health sector and return to study, she later worked in the field of Indigenous Education and Employment with the then Department of Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (DEETYA) in Melbourne and later as an Indigenous Education Officer with the University of Ballarat.

Diane has completed working on the Project: Trust and Technology: Building archival systems for Indigenous oral memory with researchers from the Monash Indigenous Centre (MIC), Clayton, and the School of Information Management and Systems Caulfield, in partnership with the Public Records Office of Victoria, the Koorie Heritage Trust, Koorie Heritage Taskforce and the Australian Society.
