The Society was founded in 1952 by people who loved classical music and enjoyed music making the the home, and teachers who wanted to give their students performance opportunities and develop presentation skills. To continue the encouragement of students of classical music, we offer the winner of the Jean Robinson Memorial Prize complimentary membership for the years of their course so they can hear other performers, and performance opportunity each year to share a programme with another musician. We hope to help them with publicity and support for their performances at Monash and elsewhere.
