Music Research Groups
The School has five Research Groups which aim to foster individual and collaborative research between our staff, postgraduate students and international colleagues.
Research outcomes include special issue journals, book chapters, recordings and world premieres of new compositions. Future plans in the Research Groups include various book projects and a Festival-Symposium.
The School’s Research Groups are:

- British Music: Composition, Criticism and Nationhood since 1800
- Jewish Music in the Asia-Pacific Region
- Music in Australian Society
- Music from the Black Sea Region: Georgia and Romania
