Australian studies program

The National Centre for Australian Studies (NCAS) offers an innovative program for international and domestic students. This is an advanced level coursework program which focuses on the study of contemporary Australia.

These courses aims to develop students' understanding of the diversity and extent of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australian experience, and of Australian cultural and social forms in a global context. As a flexible and interdisciplinary program, the Master of Australian Studies will appeal to students with backgrounds in humanities subjects, such as literature and cultural studies, or in social science subjects, such as politics and international studies.

Career outcomes

Many students undertaking the Master of Australian Studies will be seeking to strengthen already advanced research and English language skills, and to increase their understanding of Australia by studying in Australia. Having specialised in Australian studies, graduates will be better qualified to interpret Australia in a variety of educational and professional contexts to the world.
