Clayton Arts Orientation program

Introduction (compulsory event)

9.00 am - 3.30 pm

Morning

At 9.30 am you will be welcomed to Monash University by the Vice Chancellor and the Faculty of Arts Associate Dean (Education). Members of the Society of Arts Students (SAS) will also provide you with information about how to get involved in the Society and the range of social activities SAS runs throughout the year.

At 11.30 am you will be taken by an Arts guide to a lecture theatre where you will find out

At 1.00 pm we will take you to enjoy a free lunch where you will be able to meet and mingle with members of Arts staff and fellow students who are also beginning their Arts journey.

Afternoon

After lunch you can find out more information about the Arts Schools that deliver the subjects you've chosen to study for semester 1. The information sessions for each school will repeat every 15 minutes to allow you to 'drop in' to all your schools and meet other students who will be studying the same subjects as you. Take this opportunity to find out what each of your Schools will expect from you in 2009.

Special Event - Arts Study Skills Workshop (recommended event)

Special Event - School of Music Orientation (compulsory event for Music students)

1.30 pm - 4.30 pm

The School of Music - Conservatorium has designed an orientation event especially for commencing music students. Beginning with an official welcome from Professor Craig De Wilde, Head of School, and the presentation of the 2008 music prizes, this session will provide you with everything you need to know to ensure you settle into the School of Music successfully.
