Orientation Day begins with a welcome address in Robert Blackwood Hall followed by a free lunch and information sessions covering different areas of study. During the day you will gain valuable insight into what's expected of you as an Arts student and what you can expect from us. You can find out about the different transition programs we're offering; how to use essential resources; where to get help and how to get the most out of your Arts degree.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, academics and student representatives will cover a wide range of topics including opportunities you can take advantage of, studying overseas, how to access and use essential resources, expectations and protocols, transition programs, joining clubs and societies and where to go for help.

Join us for a free lunch and entertainment in the performing arts courtyard outside Robert Blackwood Hall.

| 1:15 – 4:15 | Faculty of Arts School Information Sessions
Be sure to attend some of the information sessions on the areas of study you are enrolled in. These sessions will give you a feel for what you can expect to be studying and how to prepare for a successful semester. They will be held in the H lecture theatres in Building 11 (Menzies). Music Orientation will be held from 1:30 - 5pm in the Music Auditorium, PAC Building #68

An Introduction to Study in the Faculty of Arts

This session presented by the ARTS ACADEMIC LANGUAGE & LEARNING UNIT is a great way to find out how you can get a head start on your semester's study.
The practical workshop examines key aspects of study and writing in humanities and social sciences including:
- essay writing
- referencing
- paraphrase and avoiding plagiarism
- effective reading and research
- revision and editing.
