Douglass’ Women: History and the Creative Imagination
Professor Jewell Parker Rhodes is the author of six novels; Voodoo Dreams: A Novel of Marie Laveau, Magic City, Douglass’ Women, Voodoo Season and Yellow Moon.
She is also the Piper Endowed Chair and the Founding Artistic Director of the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing. Her literary achievements include a Pulitzer Prize nomination, the American Book Award and the National Endowment of the Arts Award, among many others. Professor
