Commissioned Histories - Institute for Public History

L. Edmonds, Bring Home the Bacon, 2005

One of the aims of the Institute for Public History is to actively solicit commissions to produce histories of businesses, schools, government departments and instrumentalities, public and community institutions, biographies, histories and briefing papers on issues of contemporary interest. While commissioned histories bring in revenue to the School, the main purpose of this endeavour is to ensure local histories are professionally recorded and made available in the public domain. Commissioned histories are also a way of providing employment opportunities for professional historians, many of whom are Monash graduates.
