Chapter 11: Facilities and Services
11.1 Monash Research Graduate Centre
The Monash Research Graduate Centre was opened in September 1994 and is a key component of the university's strategic plan to enhance and expand the research candidate environment at Monash.
Regular users of the centre confirm that it offers a collegial atmosphere in which research candidates can pursue not only their own individual research projects, but also participate in a range of social, cultural and intellectual activities with other postgraduates from a variety of disciplines. International research candidates especially seem to have found in the centre a 'home away from home'.
The Monash Research
Graduate Centre is located in Building 3E adjacent to the Monash
Research Graduate School (building 3D) and next door to the Monash
Club (Building 50).
All postgraduate research students
from any Monash campus can register to use the general facilities
of the centre including computing resources.
The centre provides postgraduate research students with a wide range of facilities and services including shared office spaces, computer and printing facilities, meeting rooms, lockers and kitchen facilities. IT support staff are also available to assist with any inquiries.

The Monash Research Graduate School coordinates an annual seminar and workshop program for postgraduate research students, known as the exPERT program. The program focuses on key aspects of employment and research training and the development of generic and transferable skills.
