Maria Nugent
Dr Maria Nugent, a lecturer in Australian and Aboriginal history, won the 2006 NSW Premier's Community Regional Prize for her book Botany Bay: Where Histories Meet. Maria's work was described by the judges as 'an original and sophisticated contribution to Australian history and its construction.'
Monash Arts is internationally recognised for its research with independent reviews consistently ranking our schools highly in the international arena and among the nation's best. Examples include:
- Collaborative research projects to improve literacy and education and reduce mass poverty in Asia
- Reports on the social and economic wellbeing of Australians and terrorism studies, generating a new understanding of the political, religious and cultural causes of global violence
- World-recognised work conducted on indigenous history.
