Greg Barton
Distinguished academic Professor Greg Barton has been appointed to the inaugural Herb Feith Chair for the Study of Indonesia. Professor Barton, is highly regarded internationally for his expertise on religion and politics in Indonesia. He has written extensively on Islam, Islamic thought, civil society, politics and religious extremism.
Monash Arts is internationally recognised for its research with independent reviews consistently ranking our schools highly in the international arena and among the nation's best. Examples include:
- Collaborative research projects to improve literacy and education and reduce mass poverty in Asia
- Reports on the social and economic wellbeing of Australians and terrorism studies, generating a new understanding of the political, religious and cultural causes of global violence
