I completed my Year 12 qualification interstate – can I apply for DoTS?
If you meet DoTS entry requirements you are eligible to apply.
I am currently studying a VCAL Senior Certificate – will I be eligible to apply for DoTS?
As you do not gain an ATAR score for a VCAL Senior Certificate you are not eligible to apply for DoTS. For advice about alternative entry pathways to your chosen Monash course you should contact the relevant faculty.
I have received an offer for DoTS – can I defer?
Yes, you can apply to defer your studies for 12 months. If you are:
- a domestic student you will be advised in the enrolments steps about how to apply to defer.
- an international student you must send a written request, before semester starts, to International Recruitment Services.
I have completed university/tertiary level units – can I apply for DoTS?
If you have already completed university/tertiary level units you are not eligible to apply for DoTS, but you may be eligible to apply for your chosen Monash course. For information and how to apply for your chosen Monash course, go to the Monash Course Finder
What does DoTS cost?
If you are:
- a domestic student you are eligible for a Commonwealth support place (CSP) and will be required to pay a student contribution amount.
- an international student you will be liable for the full cost of the course.Find out the fees for DoTS.
Current students
I am a DoTS student at Gippsland – can I enrol in units at Berwick?
DoTS students can only enrol in units offered on their home campus. As you are a DoTS student at Gippsland you can only enrol in Gippsland units.
Can I enrol in units offered by off-campus learning?
DoTS students are not permitted to enrol in units offered by off-campus learning. All units must be completed on-campus.
I am a full-time DoTS student – can I change my study mode to part-time?
It may be possible to change your study mode from full-time to part-time. Requests should be submitted by email from your student account to arts-gippsland@monash.edu.au for assessment.
I am not sure if I have chosen the right stream – can I change my stream?
It may be possible to change your stream. Requests should be submitted by email from your student account to arts-gippsland@monash.edu.au for assessment.
I am enrolled in DoTS at Berwick campus – can I transfer to Gippsland campus?
It may be possible to transfer to another campus. Requests should be submitted by email from your student account to arts-gippsland@monash.edu.au for assessment.
I am due to finish DoTS – do I apply to graduate?

I have completed the first semester of DoTS – can I take a 12 month break from study?
Yes, you can apply for intermission (study leave) for up to 12 months. If you are an international student on a student visa you can only apply for intermission for compassionate or compelling situations.
