Biography
Fleur first joined our School in 2000 as an undergraduate student in media and communications and went on to complete postgraduate study. Her PhD entitled Ambivalence and Excess: A Deconstructive Reading of the Discursive Limits of Youth was completed in July 2009. Fleur took up a full time lecturing position with the school in 2010, following her previous work as a sessional tutor and academic. She works in the Communications and Writing section.
Research interests
Fleur is interested in investigating the potential uses, applications and implications of the deconstructive approach to youth developed in her thesis. Her research interests therefore include:
- post-structuralist theory
- textual and discourse analysis
- media culture
- youth culture
- questions of identity construction and representation
Current research projects
Fleur is currently working on publications arising from her PhD thesis.
