Yiddish theatre in Melbourne flourished through successive waves of talented, artistic and committed immigrant performers, as well as visitors to Australia.  Nostalgic immigrants benefitted from the restorative and rejuvenating effect that the Yiddish theatre produced.  Its reputation for excellence and variety attracted audiences from the wider Jewish community.

Yiddish music featured in all communal events where the school students sang and adults also participated in choirs such as Hazomir.
